I bought this box  in Santiago de Chile. As you know, Santiago is well known for the dictatorship under General Pinochet.

The Disappeared, victims of this dictatorship, as the name explains, were missing, some thrown into the sea from helicopters and other buried in the desert.

The connection was immediate with my Desert.  You can't imagine how many bodies are found in Juárez everyday..this causes a lack of memory.

The piece consists of collecting sand where murders were committed, put into boxes and through a  ephemeral engraving,  certain phrases are forgotten due gravity, wind and weather, just as the crimes.

This box has the phrase Caro Data Vermibus, meaning Flesh Given to Worms or...  Ca.Da.Ver.
