DRIFT

30 CARDBOARD BOXES, PRINTS, SPRAY PAINT, COLOUR DUST & ACRYLIC ON CANVAS (CANVAS 70X90 INCH, BOXES-VARIABLE SIZE)

Drift is produced during Pepper
House Residency, Kochi 2016. This work is an interpretation to the history of invasions
which left with mix culture, religions, architecture etc. I was mesmerized
watching the sea that close, the drifts holds a lot of memories. Through this
work, I was trying to depict an overview of my exploration and observation of
that place. Cargo containers as metaphor of the exchange of not only contents
but culture and history, hanged in front of the landscape in the aerial view of
that area from Pepper House, still floating and exchanging culture through
trade.
