My work offers living portraits
of bodily transformation in ways that navigate a poetics of feminine phenomena.
I use my body and a palette of organic, delicate materials to mimic natural
biological processes and to probe interpretations of the feminine. I think in
images and consider the body as simultaneously the sculptor and sculpted.
I am intrigued by moments of
transition: when beauty becomes ugliness; when clean becomes dirty; and when
gentle turns aggressive. My work is a mixture of the theatrical and image
making, a cooking of metaphor.
