I am trying to depict the reality of our society through my work and trying to create Distortion-the illusion of reality. This concept was informed through my research into the kind of defacement that is inflicted on acid-burn victims in Pakistan. By using a mirror as a medium I make the viewer confront and see self distortion. The viewer is the main part of the distortion; otherwise the mirror pieces are like mere jigsaw puzzles. My work is open to judgment as I don’t bind the viewers on what they see.
