Bierly’s work investigates memory and perception through literature, sensory languages, and the built environment. Most recent projects include: memory analyses of buildings titled Architecture of Memory; ongoing series of Color Translations, text-based installations derived from essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson, Vasily Kandinsky, Italo Calvino, and others; and Incredible Witness, a collaborative social exercise organized by performance artist, Clarinda Mac Low, utilizing neurological conditions—like dyslexia, synaesthesia, and color blindness—to investigate the building blocks of perception through game-theory structures.
