My art practice was based on various styles and mediums, from juxtaposition to cubist approach. My recent artworks are mainly figurative and floating image based. Being an art practitioner I always try to scavenge things from my surrounding. During my 6 years of institutional art practice I have learnt method, materials, philosophy, psychology, art history etc. Besides my masters from Kalyani University, West Bengal in painting I practiced and have keen interest in installations, performance and collaborative art projects. My works are a reflection of my composed nature and versatile thoughts hover around my mind.
Recently, practicing site specific Installations, thinking about the materials found and using them to create something on that specific site. An interest of working without any prior planning fascinates me. Assembling objects with a defined idea is a part of making to create an urge on thoughts and questions into the viewer’s mind. I find versatility in process and presentation in order to reflect the thoughts I acquire at that time in my practice. Representations are mostly psychological, less socio political. Simultaneously I paint landscapes containing images which I find interesting around me; sometime they create narration among them. Now I want to diversify my practice without getting stuck to a particular, thinking about different materials, time, space and presentation.
