This series of work - 'Zwischen', the German word for 'between' - explores themes of home and displacement, seen through the artist's perspective and experience of a life in-between emotions, memories and nostalgia. They provoke a wide range of interpretations and meanings that constantly shift between geographical, historical and social contexts.

The residency is the artist's first experience outside of India. The past months have become a time of intensive internal monologue and reflection on her own, and at times complicated relationship with her native country. For this she was predestined to naturally meet and share her experiences with other immigrants and refugees in Switzerland and while traveling in Europe.

The scratched white papers are the result and a transformation of these dialogues while at the same time she plunged into her memory to dig for visuals and chapters from her own narrative tradition.
