Hi my name is jhuma kundu.i am a ceramics artist.I am a resident of Kolkata (India). I received a Bachelor degree in Ceramics from the Government College of Art and Craft in 2013. I have studied toward a Master's degree in Fine Arts at the Ecole Superieure Des Beaux Arts as an exchange program student in Angers (France) and completed a Master's degree at Viswa Bharati University, India, with a specialisathion in Ceramics and Glass Design. I have received a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture .
I am also a performing artist and have done many performances during my residencies in various countries. In 2017 and 2018 I have participated in several residencies: an international residency, "Golden Thread", based on narrative movements; "Organive Wave" in Pondicherry, India ; in Egypt at South Valley University in Luxore; in Turkey at Isparta Rose Art festival, and a workshop in Egyptian English language school in Alexandria. I participated as a performing artist in the 1st Bangla Biennale in 2019, at Komdhara West Bengal. I have worked as an Art and pottery teacher in Mussoorie International School and Doon International School. Presently working as an artist at narrative movements International Artist group.

My work deals with superstition and the darker side of the society. I try to bring out the dilemma and confused state of mind of a common man in the society, who has no other option but letting himself get in to this quicksand superstition are nothing but fear that leads to corruption.
