I started painting when I did not even understand the meaning of the word. Though I drew and painted I did not understand their meanings or their effect on the audience. But I used to spend hours with my colours and drawings, and slowly the seriousness of it sunk in to me and I looked at it as something much more than a hobby.
My earlier paintings used to depict my daily life and the surroundings in which I grew up; just as we write a diary or a poem, I used to express my feeling and thoughts through my paintings
The immense beauty of nature and life as such was an inspiration for me to draw. I do not even spend time on thinking of a subject to draw: when I pick up my brushes and look at the canvas the painting unfolds itself on the canvas as if it was already there in my mind and my thought.
The world of fine arts is like an ocean and I am just a drop in it......
