Collage is a truly contemporary artistic media; fragmented, hypnotic and surrealistic, it seems to be perfect technique to symbolise the complexity that surround us. Bay Bay uses found images from various sources including images from internet, family photos and may be a random Google search to create bizarre visual narratives that borrow from aspects of pop art, dada, and traditional surrealism. As a collagist, Bay Bay brings works that push the boundaries of what we consider collage. With varied elements coming together to convey the urgency of the here and now, it represents a voyage through the process of deconstruction and reconstruction that takes us to a new aesthetic, capable of uncovering fears and contradiction, and at the same time, capable of laughing at them.
