A Walk Around London

In this series I used Monotype technique to print,

through which I intend to explain the landscape from my heart.

The landscape from my heart is influenced by individual

experiences from outside landscape. I am interested in drawing an

invisible landscape, in order to trace the texture of time.

I am interested in exploring the interactions, in a city, between architecture and people, places and people. Exploring these relationships is inevitably linked to the concept of time. Through times the city changes.

I put different photos of the London neighborhood of Camberwell on screens, and added hand drawing lines to record changes in the present moment (exploring experience of place-subjective). I used silk screen-print and intaglio drypoint techniques.

Screen-print has a strong time perspective, it has the flexibility of presenting an image by superimposing different layers, where each layer represents a different time. Intaglio drypoint also conveys a strong sense of time, because over time each line will show a different effect.

In the choice of materials, I avoided conventional ink, using instead leaves, tea, coffee, etc., that I collected in Camberwell. Each of these materials is a strong language. Using them to print the images of Camberwell has a powerful effect, delivering a unique tactile texture.

I wish my work, which embodies my own experience (visual, tactile, auditory and olfactory), could convey it through the images to the audience.
