Creating Self

It often amazes me that, while we all
talk about ourselves; occasionally the very idea of what we understand as
‘self’ depends a great deal on others. It is like we use the people we meet,
like a mirror and sketch a self-portrait. I wanted to draw a parallel between a
person, who stands before the painting and
judges it according to his or her views, with person standing before me and
judging me; while the me inside the picture makes a sketch of herself, treating the viewer as a mirror.I choose the colour blue because it
depicts emotional depth.
