Summer & Fall Gallery 2019 January 2, 2020 | by EAS Selections from the artworks uploaded on Emergent Art Space in the Summer and Fall 2019 Beach MemoriesOil on canvasaashi jainnew delhi, IndiaMore infoThe painting is a record of my memories of a trip to the beaches of Langkawi. The strong wind at the time of sunrise was a very unique and beautiful experience that I wanted to bring on my canvas, with the interplay of lights and long shadows. An unequal condition is being created in our society; darkness has come down upon people's lives. Somewhere in my country a bright student has to choose the path of suicide after being subjected to caste hatred. Billions are spent to set up statues of political figures when that money can be used to serve those in need from our country. It is as if the atmosphere of war is being created around us and this is how we got used to living life.Pity of War (Detail)Tea Stain, Watercolor, and Conte on FabrianoSuvendu BhandariKolkata, IndiaMore infoMy painting speaks of people oppressed by power, who are losing their natural right to live.
