• CALL FOR ART: Art & Human Rights Exhibition

    Opportunity for Young Emerging Artists (under 35)

    Emergent Art Space (EAS) is issuing an international ‘Call for Art’ for a virtual and live exhibition that will feature the work of young artists responding to the theme of Art & Human Rights. EAS believes that the arts are a powerful tool for communication, understanding and connection—making a difference in a world filled with tension and strife. We are offering an exhibition opportunity and platform for young artists to creatively address issues of human rights and peril in our current time.

    When & Where:  May 29 – June 10, 2023

    -- Virtual Exhibition via Emergent Art Space Website – Up to 30 artists’ artworks will be selected.

    -- Live Exhibition at the University of Concordia in Montreal, Canada – Up to 6 artists will also be invited to ship and show their physical work at this site, as part of a larger exhibition; a video of the virtual show will also have a presence at the live exhibition.

     

    Who is Eligible to Apply: Young artists from around the world ages 18-35

     

    Award Prizes:  First Place $500   |   Second Place $300   |   Third Place $300


    Application Instructions:

    Complete this Google form and upload the information and images requested - all sections with a red asterisk are required fields to submit your application successfully:

    -- Submit 1-3 artworks for consideration that respond to the theme of Arts and Human Rights: high-quality photos (jpegs) of paintings, prints, mixed media, and sculpture; photography and videos (max 3 minutes).

    For each work submitted, include:

    --TITLE  |  MEDIA/MATERIALS  |  SIZE

    --Name each JPEG/FILE: 'First / Last Name - Artwork Title'.jpeg - an example can be found on the Google form 

    --A short artist statement (100-150 words) describing each work submitted and how it responds to the arts and human rights exhibition theme.

     

    DEADLINE:  April 1, 2023    |   NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION: April 25, 2023
