Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki - the once popular television series depicting the breakdown of a traditional, well knit family into splinters was an attempt to render artistically the process of the erosion in the values of the joint families into sterile, isolated nuclear units. As the construct of the bustling, well knit vibrant family gives way to its balkanization into nuclear units, the walls and the physical milieu stand as mute spectators, testifying to the loss of meaning and bonds of solidarity that once held the family in an organic, meaningful whole - a spectre which I have attempted to showcase in my work.
